I like to think of my photography as a consolidation of a life long wish and passion to pursue photography and travel, Africa in particular. Due to life responsibilities which we all embrace this was not possible until a few years ago.
I have always had an absolute love for animals, wildlife photography seemed to be the natural place to begin. Bush life and spending time with elephant in particular feeds my soul.
Recently I embarked on portrait photography and was a little concerned at being able to portray the same feel and emotion in my pictures, I have loved every minute and I hope you enjoy my images and being part of my adventure.
Astrid has travelled mostly to African countries, including:
Chobe River, and Okavango Delta, in Botswana. Liuwa Plains in Zambia. Zimanga, Sabie Sabie Private Game Reserve, Madikwe and Underberg in South Africa. Omo Valley and surrounds in Ethiopia. Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Hoanib and Serra Cafema in Nambia. Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara in Kenya. Svalbard in the Arctic, as far as -81º North and Zanzibar Island.
